Introduction
The official link of STM where can be found in both the BT Classic (3.x) that the new BT 4.x or BTLE (components and modules) is this.
BT technology
Up to now there are different release of BT, for example there is the Classic BT v2.1, v3.0 and there is the new BTLE v.4.x

Here I want to highlight the differences from BT, BLE Smart Ready, BLE Smart, etc (see below).
Very important is that with the BTLE is not necessary use the Apple Crypto Chip for release the APP for iOS.

The SPBTLE-RF module supports multiple roles simultaneously, and can act at the same time as BLE sensor and hub device.- The evaboard is: X-CORE-IDB05A1 Bluetooth Low Energy expansion board based on SPBTLE-RF module.
There are a lot of examples ready to use on STM32.
